Toupwell supplies wired and wireless underfloor heating wiring center boxes for multi-zone hydronic heating systems.
A wiring center provides one centralized connection point for room thermostats, thermal actuators, the manifold circulation pump and the boiler. When a room thermostat calls for heat, the wiring center activates the corresponding thermal actuator and sends the required signal to the pump and heat source.
Our product range includes 5-zone and 8-zone wired wiring centers, as well as 868 MHz wireless control centers for projects where running thermostat cables is difficult.
Toupwell wiring centers are designed for residential houses, apartments, villas, offices and light-commercial hydronic underfloor heating projects. OEM and ODM services are available for heating-control brands, HVAC distributors, system integrators and underfloor heating suppliers.
Available solutions include:
5-zone wired wiring center
8-zone wired wiring center
Multi-zone wireless wiring center
868 MHz thermostat communication
230V thermal actuator control
Voltage-free boiler output
230V circulation pump output
Adjustable pump and boiler delay on selected models
Optional WiFi, Zigbee or Modbus configurations
OEM logo, housing, packaging and manual customization
A wired wiring center connects room thermostats to the thermal actuators installed on the underfloor heating manifold.
Each room thermostat is connected to a corresponding heating zone. When the room temperature falls below the setpoint, the thermostat sends a heating demand to the wiring center. The wiring center then powers the selected actuator and activates the circulation pump and boiler output when required.
Wired wiring centers are suitable for new-build projects and installations where thermostat cables can be routed to the manifold location.
Toupwell wired models include:
TPX05 5-Zone Wired Wiring Center
TPX08 8-Zone Wired Wiring Center
A wireless wiring center receives heating commands from compatible wireless room thermostats.
This removes the need to install thermostat control cables between every room and the manifold cabinet. It is especially useful for renovated buildings, finished interiors and projects where new cable routing would be disruptive.
Toupwell wireless wiring centers use 868 MHz communication with compatible RF thermostats. Depending on the selected model and configuration, they can also provide pump control, boiler control and optional smart connectivity.
Wireless models include:
TPX05RF Multi-Zone Wireless Wiring Center
TPX08RF 8-Zone Wireless Wiring Center
An underfloor heating wiring center is a centralized electrical control box used in a multi-zone hydronic floor heating system.
It connects and coordinates:
Room thermostats
Thermal actuators
Underfloor heating manifold
Circulation pump
Boiler or other heat source
Zone valves, where required
Without a wiring center, installers may need to create multiple separate connections between thermostats, actuators, pumps and the boiler.
The wiring center organizes these connections in one enclosure and applies the control logic required to operate the heating zones.
It does not measure room temperature itself. The room thermostats provide the temperature demand, while the wiring center switches the connected heating equipment.
A typical operating sequence is:
A room thermostat measures the temperature in its zone.
The thermostat sends a heating demand to the wiring center.
The wiring center energizes the corresponding thermal actuator.
The actuator opens the selected manifold circuit.
The circulation pump is activated.
The boiler or heat source receives a heating request.
Warm water circulates through the selected floor heating loop.
When the room reaches the set temperature, the thermostat removes the heating demand.
The actuator closes and the pump and boiler are switched off when no other zones require heat.
On models with adjustable delay functions, the wiring center can delay pump or boiler activation to allow time for the thermal actuator to open.
This helps avoid starting the pump against closed manifold circuits.
Each heating zone normally has a room thermostat input.
The thermostat tells the wiring center when that room requires heat.
Before selecting a wiring center, confirm:
Thermostat operating voltage
Wired or wireless communication
Number of heating zones
Normally open or normally closed signal
Heating-only or heating-and-cooling requirement
Compatibility with the selected control box
Thermal actuators are mounted on the manifold valves and open or close individual water circuits.
Important actuator specifications include:
230V or 24V power supply
Normally closed or normally open operation
Power consumption
Opening time
Number of actuators per zone
Total number of actuator terminals
Several manifold loops may serve one large room. In this situation, one thermostat zone may need to operate more than one actuator.
The maximum number of actuators per zone must remain within the wiring center’s electrical rating.
The pump output activates the underfloor heating circulation pump when one or more zones require heat.
Toupwell wiring centers provide a 230V AC pump output on the listed hydronic heating models.
The pump rating and inrush current should be checked before connection. An external relay or contactor may be required when the connected load exceeds the output rating.
The boiler output sends a demand signal to the boiler or other heat source.
A voltage-free output allows the wiring center to switch a compatible boiler thermostat input without supplying mains voltage through the contact.
Before installation, confirm:
Boiler make and model
Required control-terminal type
Voltage-free or powered input
Maximum contact rating
Whether an external relay is required
Whether the boiler uses simple on/off control or a digital protocol
A standard relay wiring center should not be connected directly to OpenTherm, eBUS or another digital boiler bus unless a compatible interface is provided.
