VAV Room Thernostat

VAV Thermostats for Room Temperature and Damper Control

Toupwell supplies VAV thermostats for commercial HVAC projects requiring room temperature adjustment and compatible damper actuator control. Our TP518 and TP501 series offer on/off or 0–10V modulating configurations, Modbus RS485 communication and selectable power versions.

Choose the thermostat according to the actuator interface, supply voltage and control sequence. We support HVAC distributors, system integrators and equipment manufacturers with standard products and OEM/ODM development.

Our Thermostats Wholesale range supports procurement across different heating and cooling systems, with product selection based on the equipment and project requirements.

Choose the Right Damper Control Configuration

On/Off Damper Control

An on/off configuration provides a switching command to a compatible actuator. Specify the required contact arrangement, actuator voltage and operating sequence before selecting the thermostat.

This option suits applications designed around switched damper operation. It should not be substituted for proportional control without reviewing the system requirements.

0–10V Modulating Control

A modulating configuration provides a variable command to a compatible damper actuator or VAV controller. Match the receiving device’s signal range, input requirements and control direction with the thermostat output.

A temperature-demand signal does not itself measure airflow. Where a project requires pressure-independent airflow regulation, the system must include suitable airflow sensing and control equipment.

TP518 and TP501 VAV Product Options

TP518 Series

The TP518 VAV thermostat combines room temperature settings, programmable operation and damper control options.

For projects requiring additional feedback signals or customized functions, provide the interface specification for engineering evaluation.

TP501 Series

The TP501 VAV room thermostat provides another platform for compatible switched or modulating damper applications.

Confirm the exact model code, output configuration and communication requirements during sample selection. Similar appearance does not establish identical wiring or functions.

Modbus Integration and Installation Planning

Building Management System Integration

Modbus RS485 provides a communication interface for compatible supervisory controls. Successful integration also requires matching register definitions, data formats and network settings.

Before ordering, define which values the project needs to monitor or adjust. Confirm the available register map and write permissions for the selected version.

Installation and Commissioning

Position the room thermostat where it can sense representative room conditions, away from direct sunlight, supply-air discharge and local heat sources.

Commission the thermostat together with the actuator or terminal controller. Check demand response, signal direction and operating limits before approving the installation.

● Confirm thermostat and actuator supply requirements.

● Identify the receiving device’s control signal and wiring.

● Define heating, cooling and changeover behaviour.

● Check required minimum ventilation and airflow limits at system level.

● Verify Modbus settings and requested data points.

● Confirm mounting dimensions and indoor installation conditions.

These checks help prevent ordering a thermostat that fits the wall box but does not match the control system.

OEM/ODM Supply for Commercial HVAC Projects

Toupwell supports thermostat brands, HVAC distributors and project suppliers with manufacturing and customization services.

Our production processes include SMT assembly, AOI inspection, DIP assembly and functional testing. Products undergo aging testing according to their requirements.

Through our OEM/ODM thermostat services, we can evaluate:

● Logo printing, housing colours and packaging.

● Localized manuals and interface requirements.

● Software, hardware and structural changes.

● Application-specific control functions and interfaces.

● Sample preparation and production requirements.

Two-year after-sales support is available under agreed supply terms. Applicable compliance documents, minimum quantities and delivery schedules are confirmed for the selected configuration and destination market.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Can the thermostat connect directly to any VAV box?

Compatibility depends on the box controller or actuator interface, voltage and operating sequence. Provide the equipment model and wiring diagram for review.

Q2: Does a 0–10V output provide pressure-independent airflow control?

Not by itself. Pressure-independent operation requires suitable airflow measurement and a control loop within the terminal system.

Q3: Does Modbus guarantee compatibility with our BMS?

The network must support the selected thermostat’s protocol settings and register definitions. Confirm the required monitoring and control points before integration.

Q4: Can the thermostat accept actuator feedback?

Additional feedback requirements can be evaluated as a project configuration or customization. Specify the signal type, range and intended function.

Q5: Can it replace an existing VAV thermostat?

Replacement requires checking supply voltage, outputs, sensors, communication and control logic. Share the existing model and terminal diagram before ordering.

Q6: Can Toupwell provide private-label VAV thermostats?

Yes. Branding and packaging options are available, alongside evaluated functional development. Minimum quantities and lead times depend on the customization scope.
