1. What is anti-freeze protection and why is it important?
Anti-freeze protection automatically turns on the heating if the room temperature drops to a dangerously low threshold (configurable 2–10°C). This prevents water pipes from freezing and bursting during winter when the property is unoccupied. It is critical for holiday homes, rental properties, and buildings in cold climates.
2. What is child lock and how does it work?
Child lock disables all touch buttons on the thermostat to prevent children or guests from accidentally changing settings. Activate by pressing and holding the designated button for 7 seconds. Some models offer a configurable lock mode where the power button remains functional while all other buttons are locked.
3. What is overheat / high temperature protection?
This safety feature monitors the floor sensor and automatically cuts off heating if the floor temperature exceeds a configurable maximum (typically 25–70°C). This protects temperature-sensitive flooring materials like engineered wood, laminate, and vinyl from warping or damage.
4. What happens if the external sensor fails or is disconnected?
The thermostat LCD will display "ERR" to indicate a sensor fault. The most common cause is the external floor sensor not being connected, or a broken sensor wire. Once the sensor is properly connected or replaced, the error clears automatically.
5. Is the thermostat housing fire-safe?
